Approach
Life can become overwhelming sometimes and this is where counselling can help. By listening carefully to you in a non-judgmental, reflective space, therapeutic change and individual growth is possible. I use a variety of counselling approaches that will best suit our work together. In a supportive environment, we can explore what is going on for you and identify areas of life you would like to change. This involves looking at what is happening in the present moment, as well as your options for the future, and any patterns stemming from childhood.

Qualifications
I am an experienced, fully qualified, BACP Registered Counsellor (148425). I have an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling (with Merit) from the University of Greenwich in 2015 and am committed to professional development by regularly attending supervision, workshops and conferences.

Testimonial from an Individual Client

"I was in a very unhappy place.  I kept blaming myself for problems with my marriage, work and the complicated relationships I had with my family.  I began behaving very out of character and resented the person I was becoming.  I knew I needed help and that's when I found Simon.
He helped me understand that I wasn't doing anything wrong and guided me to see things from different perspectives.  I became more open to other people's wants and needs and stopped blaming myself for things beyond my control.  I appreciate this all seems rather cliché but when you stop blaming yourself, you begin to find possibilities and opportunities everywhere.
Simon gave me tools to be more confident in my choices.  I live a very different life now - one that would have scared me to death two years ago.  The challenges don't get any easier but I am ready for whatever life throws at me.  Most importantly, I'm not afraid to ask for help.  I am forever grateful."

Testimonial from a Couple

"My husband and I were in such a bad place when I first contacted Simon. The issues we were trying to deal with had really turned us into people we didn’t recognise anymore and I was desperate to try & find a way to get back to the 'happier us'!
My husband was very dismissive of the whole couples counselling route I wanted to take until our first initial meet with Simon.
Simon's techniques in getting us to open up & talk to each other properly & honestly were just brilliant. He would so calmly and unbiasedly listen to both sides of our issues, really helping us to understand each other’s thought process & perhaps in some instances what the deeper meaning of certain issues might be.
My husband and I have learnt so much about each other through these sessions & we have come on leaps & bounds since our initial meet. Simon has really helped us learn the tools to keep us in this happier place. We are both very grateful to him. Thank you."
